Wanda Fay Knapp entered into the arms of her Savior on April 22. She was born in East Windsor, NY to Orrin and Dorothy (Posson) Fay. She grew up in Wells, Albany, and Colonie, NY, graduating from Colonie High School. She attended Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, PA where she was mentored by musicians Ken and Betty Masterman, developing skills in piano, organ, and choral conducting that she put to good use over the years. She later graduated from SUNY Oneonta and then from the College of St. Rose where she earned degrees in education and put these skills to use as a beloved, dedicated, and effective teacher. She taught in Sacandaga, Voorheesville, and Guilderland schools and finally in Sand Point, Alaska. Wanda loved Jesus and wanted to share the gospel of grace with others, especially children. She was creative in her ideas and conducted many Sunday School programs, Vacation Bible Schools, and Good News Clubs over the years and boldly invited anyone in her group of acquaintances. She also loved music and nothing made her happier than attending a concert or initiating a command performance from anyone with talent. She directed several choirs, including a multi-church group that sang a cantata each Christmas and even performed it at the local shopping mall. Wanda was also an enthusiastic hostess. She loved setting a beautiful table and feeding people. She was also a skilled seamstress, quilter, and gardener. She will also be remembered for her friendly, cheerful spirit, easy, merry laugh, vivacious personality, and kindness. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Rowan Fay (Judy), her beloved husband of 63 years, Wesley, her daughter Wendy (Ed) and son Wesley David (Mandy), five adored grandchildren, two precious greatgrandchildren, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Also part of the family are the caregivers who lovingly cared for Wanda in these past years.
