Ronald I. Steininger, 86, of Middleburg, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Danville, a son of the late Walter and Pauline (Musser) Steininger. He was married Aug. 1, 1959, to Ramah C. Baker, who survives.
Ronald was a 1957 graduate of Middleburg High School and, from 1957 to 1961, served in the United States Air Force. Ronald was an accomplished craftsman and worked his entire career in construction.
He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the NRA and a life member of the Reliance Hose Company No. 1 in Middleburg.
He enjoyed hunting and earlier in his life served as a game protector. He also enjoyed motorcycling, boating and camping and was a very gifted carver of wood.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years is a son, Mark Steininger; a daughter Michele Steininger; grandchildren Derek Steininger and Torie Grabski and great-grandchildren Aubree Steininger and Monica and Michael Grabski.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Gary Norman.
A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St. Middleburg.
Private burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
