Peggy A. Walter, 81, of Middleburg, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born on May 30, 1944, in Franklin Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Henry M. and Hattie (Walter) Hackenberg.
On Jan. 7, 1961, she married Carl E. Walter, who survives.
Peggy enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers and doing puzzles.
Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four children, Larry (Holly) Walter, Dean Walter, Gene (Tammy) Walter and one daughter Debra (Timothy) Kline; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Walter, Darlene Sycz and Stella Knepp; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean and Dave Smith and John Eichman.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Walter; sisters and brothers Betty Herman, Helen Herman, Neida Frank, Norma Solomon, Walter Hackenberg, Paul Hackenberg and Edgar Hackenberg; and in-laws Arla (Marlyn) Tittle, Alvin (Pauline) Walter, Violet (Russell) Roush and June Eichman.
Services will be private with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
