Norman Eugene Will, 88, of Middleburg, passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his home in the village of Kissimmee.
Born on January 24, 1937, in Beaver Springs, Snyder County, he is a son of the late Roy and Maude (Riegel) Will. On June 9, 1962, he married the love of his life Grace Elaine Leitzel, with whom he was blessed to share over 62 years of marriage before his passing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Darvin (Christa) Will of Mount Pleasant Mills, Kevin Will of Middleburg, Steven (Mary Beth) Will of Elizabethtown, and Daniel (Megan) Will of Manheim. He boasted eleven grandchildren: Jeremy, Heather, Joshua, Kaylee, Katie (Zach), Lauren (Evan), Maggie, Amelia (Lionel), Theodore, Harrison, and Lynora, as well as five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by siblings Harvey Will, Dorothy Sassaman, Martin Will, Beatrice Benner, Erie Will, and Gladys Longer. One sister, Jean Loss of Middleburg survives.
Norman grew up on a family farm and had a passion for the outdoors. However, to earn a living and provide for his family, he worked for 40 years at Wood-Mode Cabinetry in Kreamer. He was a faithful attender of Richfield Life Ministries church his entire married life. But everyone knew that his garden was his happy place, which not only gave him great pleasure, but also provided his family, relatives, and neighbors with much fresh, delicious, and prized produce.
Norman loved his family well, especially his wife Elaine. He was a hard worker and a good provider. He was a great father and an even better grandfather, as his many grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a quiet, intelligent, generous man of many talents and interests. Son Dan summed up his father humorously this way: “Dad had four seasons – fishing, garden, hunting, and puzzle.”
Funeral Services will be held at the Richfield Life Ministries Church, 167 Church St., Richfield on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Minister Ryan Maneval officiating. There will be no viewing; however, a visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be done by the family privately.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
