Mary Kathryn Shemory

Mary Kathryn Shemory, 100, formerly of Middleburg, passed away Saturday, Jan 17, 2026, at North Ridge Center, McAlisterville, with her son by her side. 

She was born on Feb. 4, 1925, in Beech Creek, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Rev. Harley B. and Grace M. Bastian Hoffman. 

Mary Kathryn married Robert W. Shemory Sr. on Aug. 13, 1955. He preceded her on Dec. 11, 1989. 

She had been employed at area garment factories and Graci's Flowers in Selinsgrove. 

Mary Kathryn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Middleburg, 

She enjoyed crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress, making a lot of her own clothing. 

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and (Penny) Shemory Jr. of Richfield, daughter Kathleen (Ron) Donnelly of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Krinjeck, Michelle Shemory, Stephen (Caroline) Donnelly, Krista Donnelly and Tracey (Heath) Catafalmo and two great-grandchildren, Kiya and Kaylee Krinjeck; one sister, Grace (Charles) Spigelmeyer of Selinsgrove, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoffman of Selins grove, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Hoffman, and a sister, Dorothea Keefer. 

A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Hummel Funeral Home 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. Pastor Erin Wheeler and Pastor Roger Womer are officiating. 

Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Middleburg. 

Her family would like to thank Nort Ridge Center employees for their care given to Mary Kathryn.
