Marjorie E. Erdley, 90, Middleburg
Marjorie went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2025 with her family surrounded beside her. She was born October 1934. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elva Hassinger. On February 28, 1954, she married the love of her life the late Abner Erdley, Jr.
Marjorie was a 1953 graduate of Middleburg High School. She worked at the Middleswarth Potato Chip factory. Her faith was strong and she was an active and devoted member of the Salem Brethren Church. She enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies baseball games, doing word search books, canning fruits and vegetables, making homemade ice cream, picnics at Raymond B. Winter State Park, swinging on her front porch swing, and going to her favorite restaurant, Perkins. Above all, her family meant everything to her. She was a wonderful wife, caring mother and the sweetest grandmother anyone could have ever asked for. She truly meant the world to her family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Savidge (Jim) of Lancaster and Carol App of Kreamer, four grandchildren, Chris, Michael, Cindy (Brad) and Tim, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was husband Abner Erdley, three brothers Nevin, Carl, and Elwood Hassinger, two sister in laws Arla and Grace Hassinger, and son in law Douglas App.
Services will be at Salem Brethren Church, Market St. Middleburg with Rev. Bob Pyle officiating. Viewing on Thursday, September 25 from 10:00-11:00. Funeral service following at 11:00. Burial at Glendale Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Hummel Funeral Home.
