John O. Reinard

John O. Reinard, 68, of Mount Pleasant Mills, passed away on Nov. 9, 2025, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born July 24, 1957, son of the late Ammon and Alice (Sholly) Reinard. On May 25, 2002, he married Norma Inch who survives.

John worked 31 years as a heavy machine operator, his last employer being Hempt Brothers Construction John held a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. He had a passion for sprint car dirt track racing, spending many years as a mechanic on Bill and Bobby Landis’ cars.

John was devoted to Fremont Fire Co. for many years, holding many offices in house in addition to being a firefighter and with the fire police. For many years, he helped George Garman anytime day or night in many situations.

John was very devoted to many things, such as hunting, fishing, and being a mechanic; but his most loved past time was butchering, from early fall until early spring. He absolutely loved the camaraderie of many friends and family always with a wink and a “just kidding.”

John's immediate family are a brother Leroy (Helen) Reinard; sisters Mary Gaup and Martha (Amos) Sensenig; a son Michael Reinard with Paula Athey; grandsons Dylan (Rhiannon) Reinard, Noah, and Issac Reinard; two great-grandsons Maverick and Leo Reinard; his inherited family: Sandy (Shiltz) and Jason Bright; son Aaron Shiltz and daughter Selina (Shiltz) and Michael Spade; grandchildren Alan Harbaugh, Rebecca Harbaugh, Teneale Moyer, Mason Spade, and Charlie Spade; and great-grandchildren Bransen Gemberling and Kinsley Kerstetter.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, 1070 St Thomas Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, from 9 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 11, Pastor Roger Womer and son-in-law Jason Bright officiating. A luncheon will be provided following the service.
