Duranne R. “Dee” Drumheller, age 86, of Middleburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, at The Manor at Penn Village in Selinsgrove.
She was born July 7, 1939, in Reading, a daughter of the late Harold W. and Emaline (Miller) Dry. In April 1976, she married Albert Drumheller, who survives. Her death breaks a union of over 49 years.
Dee had been employed at Country Farm and Home, Mifflinburg, for many years where she was a buyer and a display designer in the store. Dee attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Middleburg. She was a member of the Susquehanna Spinners and Weavers Guild and participated in many spinning and weaving demonstrations and Sheep to Shawl competitions at fairs and the Pennsylvania Farm Show. She loved her animals and, at the farm, had sheep, goats, rabbits, llamas and donkeys.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Donna Mengle and Joel Bottiger of Mount Pleasant Mills; a son, Douglas (Kellie) Miller of Kreamer; daughter-in-law Cheryl Miller, of Middleburg; a sister, Beverly Culbert of Lebanon; sister-in-law Laura Dry of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Miller; a granddaughter, Andria Sprenkel; brother-in-law Pete Culbert, and a brother, Harold Dry Jr.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1000 S. Main St., Middleburg, followed by a memorial service at 11 with Rev. Paul L. Kampa officiating. Burial will be in the Globe Mills Cemetery.
Contributions to honor Duranne’s memory may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
