Audrey Darlene Dreese

Audrey Darlene Dreese, 82, of Freeburg, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.

She was born on June 29, 1943, to the late Elwood and Bertha (Shaffer) Dressler Walter.

Rob and Audrey purchased a farm in 1968 where they farmed and raised livestock. In the late 1970’s they built a butcher shop where they worked together for many years serving the local farming community. Before retirement, Rob and Audrey, along with family, raised and sold produce at local markets. Rob and Audrey spent their life together working, hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Eugene (Pap) Walter, Sr.; stepmother, Luella (Longacre) Dressler; brothers Eugene Walter, Jr. and Gary Dressler; and a sister, Donna Goodling.

Audrey is survived by her loving husband Robert; son, Chad and wife Amy; and sisters Vickie Walter, Beverly Thomas, Linda Harner, and Cheryl Keister. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jessica Minium and husband Tison, Dezirae Dreese and Fiancé Jared, and Whitney Sowers and husband Jim; six great-grandchildren Avery, Wyatt, Berkley, Natalie, Easton, and Harper.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Geisinger Hospice Nurses and Aides for their caring support.

A viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill Street, Middleburg from 10-11 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Ann Zimmerman officiating.

Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Freeburg.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Freeburg Fire Hall at Noon for a time of food and fellowship.

Arrangements are by Hummel Funeral Home, Middleburg.
