Anna Martin Kitner Obituary

Anna M. Martin Kitner, 95, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Richfield Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born April 3, 1930, in Mazeppa, a daughter of the late Oren and Sally (Shilling) Zechman. 

Anna was married to Richard Martin and following his passing, married David Kitner who also preceded her in death.

Earlier in her life she had been employed as a domestic worker for the Aurand family. She later worked at Howell's Kreem King, the Leonard Garment Factory, Juniata Lumber, and also as a municipal tax collector.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, where she served in numerous capacities. She had also been a member of the Mount Pleasant Mills Civic Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fremont Fire Company, and enjoyed doing quilting and word puzzles and cooking.

Surviving are four sons, Kevin (Lisa) Martin, Kraig Martin, Karl Martin, and Kris Martin; a step-daughter, Frosteen (Michael) Hummel; a daughter-in-law Tina Martin; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Rothermel and Mary Schaffner; and one brother, Charles Zechman.

She was preceded in death by a son, Keith Martin; two grandchildren; five brothers, Gilbert, Russell, Elwood, Carl, and Richard Zechman; four sisters, Ruth Walter, Frances Walter, Margretta Gessner, and Gladys Brought; and three daughters-in-law Patricia Martin, Patsy Martin and Christi Martin.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 5230 Route 104, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 11 with Rev. Marty Adams and Rev. Daryl Kuhns officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.
